Crazy for Shoe. ♡

Ngek! Corny naman ng title ko! Haha. Anyway!! This post is about my faaaaaaavorite local shoe store ever! I really cannot stop raving about this brand to my friends and family, and I own numerous pairs of their shoes as proof of being a fan of the brand :) So it was a great honor for me to get the blessing of Kit whose mom owns this enterprise, to promote their shoe brand. :) I prepared a couple of outfits with different "themes" in which all Shoebox shoes fit the occasion (like they always do)! :)

P.S.
None of these shoes cost more than P 899.00 ;)

Working Girl

I came from a career orientation earlier that day, and we were required to wear a corporate outfit so I made the most out of the occassion! :) I'll be starting my internship with the Department of Foreign Affairs soon, and I've been setting up my wardrobe for that occasion. I have a sturdy pair of sexy work pumps, but let's face it.. I can't wear those everyday, much less, the whole day.. So this pair is perfect as back up shoes, or they could be your shoes for the whole day if you wanna be comfortable and mobile. :)

Sweetheart Tween

When I was in high school, sadly, I only had one pair of flats.. They were faux Crocs.. HAHAHA. Please, feel free to laugh now. Looking back, I wish I could've had nicer pairs of flats instead of those stupid grey faux Crocs that I insisted on wearing all the time. My mom, too, was a hindrance to my shoe collection then because she didn't want to splurge on flats that I wouldn't be able to use often since I was in my uniform everyday, anyway. However, high schoolers, it'll be very easy to convince your parents to buy these flats because they're VERY affordable -- and let's admit it, there are lots of "affordable" flats out there but will never match our expectations.. But with Shoebox, the styles are always up to date and fashionable, you won't even have to worry about finding a cute AND affordable pair of shoes. :)

Monday Blues

Honestly, this is a reflection of my "college" style. I'd describe my style as "nautical with an edge". I incorporated a denim polo with a breton striped shirt, and black denim jeans with brown moccasins, which I think screams nautical but edgy :) Haha. Whenever I try looking for shoes that are "in" for the season, I ALWAYS find them at Shoebox. Brogues, moccassins, clogs, wedges, and simple flats -- you name it they've got it, and all under a 1,000 pesos! Perfect for college students talaga!

Sunday Brunch

As I said, I'm your ultimate nautical girl!! Haha, which is very visible in this outfit. During Sundays, which are my chill days, wherein I don't think about what I have to wear, I just throw something in blue, red, or stripes and it looks extra chic already. :) The shoes are really what make this outfit! I mean look at them.. Feminine, non bulky brogues? WHAT IS PERFECTION. This pair is beautiful! I'll probably get it for myself when I've saved up a bit! And you should too!! :)

Best Prom Ever ♡

In contrary to my title, I didn't experience the best prom ever.. It wasn't even close! Haha :P But that will not dampen my spirits in advising you girls on how to experience your best prom ever by picking the perfect dress . :) Here are my top picks for 2012 prom dresses :) I'm not the traditional long gown girl, so what I have here are more of cocktail dresses :)

Asymmetric dresses for me are the right amount of demure and sexy. Assuming that you are all around 15-16 and still quite conservative, this is a dress that most of you will be able to pull off and hopefully your dad will allow you to go out in with your prom dates ;) Haha.

Power shoulders + peplum skirts can instantly vamp an outfit by the rough edges matched with the curves of your body. If you're a bit more daring (and shapely) this is something you could look into :)

Hi-lo skirts are very in this season, it take styling your ordinary ankle length skirt to a whole new level by shortening the front and leaving it long at the back. Not to mention, the silhouette of this skirt is very slimming as well! I love dress not only cause of the skirt part but also because of the bust part which is bedazzled with different colored gems which brings this all black cloth to life :)

The boning of this dress is perfect and the v-cut neckline in front helps emphasize the bust area. If you're into taking risks, try out this style and I'm sure you'll wow everyone. :) The number one thing you need if you plan on wearing a dress like this is CONFIDENCE. :)

Black dresses with gold detailing are so striking! Wherever the gold is, that is the part of your body which becomes most emphasized. Like putting on the bust area will emphasize your bust, and putting on your waist will emphasize that area. The gold detailing could be on your dress or worn as accessories :)

For those girls who are really conservative and are into the whole "sweet and dainty" style, this dress would look perfect for you :) A little bit of skin but print-wise and cut-wise it's still very young and fresh :)

If I could attend my high school prom again I would definitely wear this dress. The striking pink color with the romantic black lace is just so feminine and sexy, you'll surely turn heads. This dress is just DIVINE.

That's all for tonight!! Hope you liked it! If you liked any of these dresses, I can have them custom made for you! :) Feel free to tweet me @HelloCarliexx :)

You Wear It Well ♡

Hello! :) This is the second or third blog post this week? :P I am on a roll!! My new year's resolution is to update this blog as much as I can or on a regular basis so that I keep you guys updated and entertained :) Anyway! I was at Shang today and took a trip to True Value (I love hardware and furniture stores!!) and found this supposed clothing compartment and instead turned it into a shoe compartment! Looks way better that way for me :) I did a quick little shoot and here it is! Below are my favorite heels, excluding my faux JC's because I left them in LA :(

Here's the whole rack, which has yet to find a proper place in my room. :)

American Flag Heels from Asian Vogue
Why I love it?
American flag prints are so adorable and they come in my favorite outfit colors (i.e. blue, white and red) :) Not to mention, these look exactly like a pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes I saw online. Saved a whole lot on this pair! :)

What to pair it with?
White top (sleeveless polo, muscle shirt, polo, plain shirt), denim jeans, oversized black bag, and simple accessories :) Remember that the shoes are a statement in itself, don't overdo your accessories :)

Leopard Print Wedges from H&M

My tita got these for me as a Christmas gift last year and I remember seeing them and feeling my eyes widen and my heart start to pump faster. Haha! These shoes LITERALLY excited me. It was love at first sight and I think my tita felt that if I didn't get these shoes right then and there, I'd die. So she was kind enough to pick it up for me as I had drained most of my shopping money earlier already! :)

Why I love this?
Leopard print heels were a must have last 2011, and these are the most perfect ones you'll ever have! The heel is just right around 2-2 1/2 inches, and they're wedges, which means not all of your weight rests on a narrow heel, making this pair perfect to walk around in. Other than that, the kind of leopard print is the nice one, there's a tacky kind of leopard print, and I advise you guys to shy away from that. :)

What to wear it with?

Do not wear a leopard printed top with it!! I beg of you, whoever you are reading this, don't overdo it :( Instead, wear a plain top in whichever color you prefer, and whatever bottom you prefer.. You can actually wear these with shorts because of the heel of the shoe being a wedge and it not being too high :) You've got a wide variety of choices :)

Sparrow Printed Mary Jane Platforms from Seventh Heaven Shop

I am a HUGE FAN of Miu Miu footwear especially the line of mary jane platforms they came out with. This sparrow pair is my most absolute favorite of the bunch and when I had seen my friend selling an identical for a much cheaper price, I seized the opportunity to own these babies.

Why I love this?
The print and color is so feminine, it makes you feel beautiful just putting it on. It's also a head turner! I've received so many compliments while wearing these shoes, once from Georgina Wilson, even! Haha :) That was one of my favorite memories. These shoes have brought me so much luck :)

What to wear it with?

This is the most feminine I can do! Haha. I actually wore this to a meeting with a client and used them while in the mall too! Wore it with a loose silk top, blazer, bodycon skirt and my Gucci! :) Felt really classy in this ensemble :)

Black Wedges with String Detail from Parisian

I'm not bragging but... I have this ability to predict trends.. and I bought this pair waaay before people were going crazy over these! I love how the string detail in front reminds me of a military blazer, and how it's so masculine yet feminine at the same time :)

Why I love it?
This pair is sooo versatile! Whenever I wanna go out in heels, I don't have to think about what I wanna wear so it can match the heels, anything I do just does and it saves a lot of time!

What to wear it with?

Mary Jane Clogs from Jellybean

You would not believe how beautiful the shoes from Jellybean are!! They're my favorite local brand when it comes to heels :) You can expect up to date styles from this store and they come at affordable prices! Nothing over 2,000 I think :)

Why I love this?
It looks so fresh and clean! It's easy to pair with daintier outfits because it's not the super white kind of white, which you should only wear for graduation.. Instead it's this creamy kind of white that makes your feet look nicer, if you know what I mean :)

What to wear it with?
I've worn this with my more nautical outfits, and they look gorge! Also, you can check my Sleeping Beauty post and see what I wore this with :)

Glitter Platforms from Prima Donna

I just received this the other day from Ciaeli as one of her 11 weeks 11 gifts gift for me :") The sweetest I swear! I just pointed these out while we were in the more, next thing I know she's poking me holding out the paper bag of the store with these shoes inside :) Hihi.

Why I love this?
Yet another Jeffrey Campbell inspired pair!! I'm a big fan of JC's and I am also equally obsessed with finding replicas of their shoes!! Also, glitter shoes are very in this season, and this is just the right amount of glitter which you can use on dressy and casual events :)

What to wear this with?
I'd pair these with a cream top, a circle skirt, and some silver accessories :)

Grey and Yellow Color Block Wedges from Parisian

I was intending to buy Rajo for Parisian shoes, when I copped this pair.. Instead, I turned my head and saw these babies and thought just how interesting they were! They're beautiful, but really painful :( The strap which holds your toes in is really thin so your toes burn a bit but I think that's just cause they were new when I wore them. I have yet to wear them again and test the comfort of this pair :)

Why I love it?
It looks simple at first, but the pop of color at the back is so surprising and refreshing.. It makes this pair all the more beautiful and interesting :)

What to wear it with?
I wore this with a loose top (tucked in a bit of the shirt so it would look slouchy), tattered jeans (cuffed at the bottom), and a bib necklace :)

Aztec Printed Wedges from Dollhouse

Printed heels?? WIN. I don't really have much words to say why I find this beautiful cause it's pretty obvious! They're super comfy to walk in too! Don't mind the sticker, since they're new and haven't been worn out yet, haha :)

Why I love it?
The print on the heel is so pretty and I wish I could rip it out of the shoe and wear it! Haha. I don't have anything quite like it and it'll be a good addition to my growing collection :)

What to wear it with?
You can wear this with jeans, skirts, and dresses that are plain :) The deal with shoes like this as I said is earlier is that they're statement pieces and adding other statement pieces will only make it look too crazy. :)

These shoes are only a part of my collection, and hopefully I'll have more soon! :) I'll keep you all posted :) Tweet me @HelloCarliexx for any questions, suggestions and comments!
